WOW! Crepe Myrtles in Bloom.

Crepe myrtle trees are always stunning when they bloom during the long Florida summer months. The colors can be as intense as a deep crimson red or hot as pink and magenta, subtle as lavender and violet or simple as soft white, really highlighting the bright yellowy centers & nubby green buds. These photos were taken at twilight in my own neighborhood while walking with my shihtzu Lucy, who really knows how to stop and smell the finer things in life. Till now, I didn't realize the crepe myrtle had a fragrance but this white variety definitely did and it was delightful. This is the 6th year for these trees and they are in their full glory and the biggest I've seen in my neighbors' yards to date. Enjoy the enjoy the crepe myrtle show this summer!
